Millie's Waltz

I wrote this tune for my aunt Millie who ran a funky cafe in Vancouver called the Strawberry Lane. Our family would visit nearly every summer. She was a fine lady, a little cantankerous at times but a heart of gold. In her teens she would help my grandfather with taking care of the horses that he broke near Minitonas , Manitoba. She later became a school teacher before moving to the west coast. I think it has the feel of the open prairie grasslands where she would play as a kid with my dad. I recorded this on Longshore Drift.
