Abstract:
This talk would explore original compositions that merge different musical genres. Demonstration and discussion of the elements of each genre and the resulting emergence of a “hybrid “ or crossover tune would be explored. The technical challenges and rewards of these new tunes would be presented.
Roy Johnstone began studying classical violin and fell in love with traditional music . He loves to explore and draw inspiration from other musical genres such as jazz, blues , latin and reggae.
