Celtfestcuba Festival A Success

The 2011 celtferstcuba festival has just ended and for me it was a fantastic experience. This is the second year for the festival and there were a few logistical and publicity challenges , especially organizing a festival with this many participants and venues around old havana but for me it was a great experience. Please put this festival on your calendar for April 2012.

What is Island Culture ?

Opinion letter in the Guardian from Edwin Jamieson about Frank Ledwell's view of PEI culture.

Frank Ledwell's legacy and Crowbush

Frank Ledwell's legacy and Crowbush

I had the honour and privilege to be part of an evening celebrating Frank Ledwell's life which was held recently at UPEI. The evening was a fundraiser to set up a scholarship fund in Frank's memory. It was well attended and there were many moving tributes acknowledging his wide ranging influence in sports, the creative arts, the university of PEI and with family and friends.

Transatlantic Seaway Collaboration

Transatlantic Seaway Collaboration

A few of the students and teachers as they prepare for their performance at the Octagon Lodge in Loon Mountain. The Transatlantic Seaway Collaboration was a highlight of the 35 th New Hampshire Highland Games. Drawing students from Royal Scottish Academy of Music, Starthclyde School of Music, both in Glasgow, Scotland and the Berkley School of Music in Boston this group of young performers wowed audiences with their virtuosity and passionate playing. Congrats to all the people who made this collaboration possible. Steve and I were thrilled when several of the students and teachers joined steve and I during one of our sets in the Octagon lounge.
